Family 1st Pt 6 – Keys to Overcoming
When it comes to your home, God desires that you would be successful. If you do not believe, if you do not work at it you will never experience them. You have to dedicate yourselves. Fathers, if you do not dedicate yourselves to being good fathers, you will never be a good father. Same for husbands and wives and mothers. To be good at what you want to be good at, you must dedicate yourself. We must be intentional if we wish to be better. This Sunday we talked about two keys to being a success in every aspect of our lives. The first is to never give in. Once we give in, that is the first step to failure. We give in to our jobs, we may as well prepare to be jobless. We give in to our marriages, we may as well prepare for divorce. We must be intentional in our lives, in our marriages, in our jobs, if we wish to be successful. Sometimes when the going gets tough we step back, shrug our shoulders and assume that perhaps it wasn’t part of God’s plan when all along God was pushing us forward, pushing us into the direction he wanted us to go. Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. The second key we spoke of is dare to do. The greatest mistakes in your life are often not because of what you did do, but because of what you didn’t do. We must be daring. We must be courageous. Hebrews 13: 5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” How many times do we miss out on the blessing God has for us because we were not daring, not courageous?
